Upco supports the opening of a surface well in Uganda
Upco, as part of Coveme group, has decided to support Save the Children again by joining a project for 2023 for the opening of a surface well for the children of the Sentema school located in the Wakiso district in Uganda.
The purpose of the surface well is to collect rainwater in the rainy months (April-July and October-November) and to make it accessible to school and village .
This intervention not only guarantees an important service such as having clean water but allows children to attend school more regularly thanks to the decrease in the incidence of communicable diseases and thanks to the decrease in absenteeism from school due to having to collect water from rivers kilometers away.
